Stage 4 cancer damaged my voice, but not my will to survive.
I wanted to give you an update from the front lines of this fight. Cancer may have damaged away my voice, but it hasn’t taken my determination, my faith, or my hope. Every day, I wake up ready to battle for more time with my family, for moments of peace, and healing, however it may come.
Cancer Treatment: Another Round Begins This Week
This Thursday, I’ll receive my next infusion of Keytruda. Keytruda is an immunotherapy drug that trains my immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. It’s used to treat several cancers, including head and neck cancer, which I’ve been fighting for years.
Keytruda offers hope. It will slow the tumor’s growth, extend my life, and maybe even send the cancer into remission. But like any potent weapon, it comes with side effects, fatigue, nausea, joint pain, and the risk of inflammation in organs like the lungs or liver. Still, I choose to face it head-on because I’m fighting stage 4 cancer to stay alive.
Increasing Keytruda’s Punch with High-Dose Vitamin C
The day before my infusion, I will receive a 75-gram dose of High Dose Intravenous Vitamin C (HDIVC). This is more than just a supplement; it’s a powerful ally. From an integrative medicine perspective, HDIVC helps my body handle treatment, strengthens my immune system, reduces inflammation, and protects healthy tissue. Many patients report better energy, reduced side effects, and a more effective response when combining HDIVC with immunotherapy.
Unfortunately, these infusions, 24 in total over three months, are not covered by insurance. That’s where your donations have kept me alive. Every infusion, every treatment I get, is because someone like you gave me a fighting chance.
Where Your Donations Go
Every dollar you give supports my ability to keep going: Donate Now
- HDIVC Therapy ($9,000): 3 months of immune-boosting, cancer-fighting infusions
- Botox Injections ($8,000 annually): Targeted treatment to reduce neck spasms and daily pain
- Copays and Coinsurance ($10,000 annually): Out-of-pocket expenses for ongoing cancer treatment
- Lost Wages: I can no longer work as an IT Project Manager due to my damaged vocal cord and cancer fatigue
Thank You
I never imagined I’d be in this place, writing to ask for help to keep receiving treatment. But here I am, humbled and grateful. Your support has helped keep me alive. It’s helped me sleep better knowing we could afford the next round. It’s helped my sons see their dad fight with everything he has.
Thank you for reading, praying, sharing, and donating. You are part of this fight, and I don’t take a moment of it for granted.
With love and grit,
Wayne
Every prayer helps, but your donation can change my fight. Please consider giving to my GoFundMe to help cover cancer treatments and overwhelming medical debt.
